How They Help
There is not enough that can be said about the powerful force of helping that Red Cross volunteers represent. Hundreds of volunteers help Red Cross in a variety of ways that are all very important to our mission.

Blood drive volunteers ensure that information is recorded accurately and that donors have a comfortable experience, playing an integral role in ensuring a safe and adequate supply of life-saving blood for area hospitals. Emergency services volunteers are the men and women who are willing to be “on call” to respond any time day or night, tending to the practical and emotional needs of disaster victims. Volunteer safety and health instructors teach life-saving skills, making heroes out of average citizens. The power of their contribution to our community is illustrated by the sheer volume of their numbers and hours of commitment:

  • Volunteers constitute 97 percent of our total workforce, serving as members of the board , instructors teaching lifesaving skills, disaster action team members, office administrators, event organizers and more.
